Green Noodle Adventures - One Woman's Story.

As I get started, I suppose we should begin at the beginning.

I am a woman, born a female child, developed into a girl and blossomed into womanhood.  First I am a daughter, then a sister, and a friend.  The next steps were wife and mother and all my "jobs" are a work in progress, as I, am a work in progress.

Born to a banker and a municipal clerk - I grew up knowing and you can do anything to set your mind to and that the support system is there to back you up.  To this day, the mantra, "Keep your stick on the ice" runs through my head when faced with a challenge.  I know that home is where you hang your hat, and your hat can be anywhere.  I grew up with big dreams and the encouragement to go for it.

I am the oldest of 4 children, which is unheard of for my generation.  In fact, I am always shocked when I meet someone who had the same size or larger family as myself.  Of course, my little sister would tell you that my parents just kept going until they got it right!  I say they achieved perfection the first time, but felt they needed to humble me.  :)

My mother tells the story of how they put me in nursery school as I was bossy and stubborn.  My parents hoped that by being with other children my own age, I would learn to share and team work.  So the joke is, "she never learned those lessons" and there are days when I am glad that I am stubborn, because it is also the fuel for my ambition in my life.  I did learn team work and to share and to work independently, but I also learned about hard work, advocating for myself and others and that leadership takes on many different "looks".

I finished high school, completed 2 university degrees, got a job, found my best friend and husband, have a lovely son and just finished my Master's degree.

I hope this "adventure" will help share thoughts and feelings about my world and where we are going.  I am sure a crystal ball to look into the future would be fun, but I prefer to go forth into the unknown as its the journey of life that its really all about!!
