In chatting with a friend, we decided that I needed to write it out. Frankly, the bad days were mounting up and no amount of running was helping. In fact, I was writing blogs while running - lots of ideas but too much momentum in the run to stop and write at that moment!!
In July of 2007 and in October 2010, I was found to be a victim of bullying and harassment at my workplace. Yes, I an adult female in a professional environment was victimized by her colleagues and people whom I thought were "friends". To further add salt to the wounds, the people in charge (aka management) did not protect staff and therefore the second occurrence. I was not the only victim in either investigation - but its telling of the environment and the tone set by the leadership which permits this type of behavior to happen. I might even suggest that it was the management who often perpetrated the violence against staff by the tone and the culture in which they cultivate.
I just look to my children and know that its not a world I want them to experience. How can I protect them? Is "politics" really a part of every adult world?
I get really frustrated and angry with the perpetrators.
